أول حدث تيداكس من نوعه في بغداد في 12 تشرين الثاني 2011
يقام تحت رعاية دولة رئيس الوزراء العراقي السيد نوري المالكي المحترم  
 الثاني عشر من تشرين الثاني :  تيداكس بغداد سيجعل المستحيل ممكناً عن طريق اجتذاب نخبة من المع العقول العراقية والعالمية إلى فندق الرشيد للمساهمة في ابراز صورة العراق الجديد, فمن خلال سلسلة من العروض سوف يلهم تيداكس بغداد سرد فصل جديد من فصول القصة العراقية في أعقاب الحروب مستغلَا الإرث الثقافي الغني لبلد عرف بمهد الحضارات.
أهداف تيداكس بغداد هي العمل على وصل المواهب العراقية ببعضها والترويج للمبتكرين العراقيين على صعيد دولي و إعادة بناء سمعة بغداد  كمركز  ثقافي و فكري في الشرق الأوسط. 
تشكل تيداكس بغداد آخذاً في الاعتبار هدف مؤتمر تيد الدولي )الأفكار التي تستحق الانتشار( فإن برنامج تيداكس غير الربحي مصمم بحيث يمنح  الفرص للمجتمعات والمنظمات والأفراد على خلق حوار يماثل ما يحصل في مؤتمر تيد لكن على مستوى محلي.
يتم التخطيط والتنسيق لحدث تيداكس بشكل مستقل على مستوى المجتمع. هنالك ما يفوق 1500 حدث تيداكس حول العالم والآن قد حان دور العراق . 
تضم قائمة ضيوف تيداكس بغداد نخبة فعالة من الأكاديميين والتنفيذيين والمخترعين والفنانين والموسيقيين وصناع الأفلام والعلماء والرياضيين والأطباء منهم من يسكن الوطن و منهم من هو مغترب وسيحضر خصيصاً ليكون جزءاً من هذا اليوم التاريخي ومن بين المتحدثين الموسيقار العراقي الكبير وسفير اليونيسيف الفنان كاظم الساهر و الدكتور عزام علوش المسؤول عن إعادة أعمار أهوار العراق و المخرج محمد الدراجي  والمهندس المعماري منهل الحبوبي  الحائز على جائزة العمارة الدولية  بالاضافة الى الكابتن فريد لفتة اول عراقي حامل لرقم قياسي في كتاب غينيس والموسيقار المبدع نصير شمّه. 
بينما يشق العراق طريقه عبر سنوات من الحروب فإن الأفكار الجديدة الخلاقة تعد أساسية لإعادة بناء البلد وسوف يوفر تيداكس بغداد هذا المسرح لهذه الأفكار وهو يهدف أيضا الى مواصلة الحدث عبر موقعه الالكتروني:

First Ever TEDx Event in Baghdad, Iraq 12 November 2011
Held under the patronage of the Honorable Mr. Nori Al Maliky Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq

November 12, 2011 - TEDxBaghdad will Make the Impossible Possible when it brings some of the countryʼs -and worldʼs - brightest minds to Baghdadʼs Al-Rasheed Hotel to imagine the Iraq of the future. Through a seriesof talks and performances by a diverse array of talent, TEDxBaghdad will inspire a new Iraqi narrative in thewake of war while capitalizing on the rich cultural history of a region known as The Cradle of Civilization. Thegoals of TEDxBaghdad are to connect Iraqi talents with one another, promote Iraqi innovators on an international level and rebuild Baghdadʼs reputation as an intellectual and cultural hub of the Middle East.
TEDxBaghdad was created with TEDʼs mission statement in mind: Ideas Worth Spreading. The nonprofit TEDxprogram is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialoguethrough TED-like experiences at the local level. TEDx events are planned and coordinated independently on acommunity-by-community basis. Over 1500 TEDx events have taken place around the world. Now itʼs Iraqʼs turn.
TEDxBaghdadʼs guest list is a powerful and dynamic mix of academics, CEOs, inventors, artists, musicians,filmmakers, scientists, athletes and physicians – some of whom live in Iraq, some of whom are flying inspecifically to be part of this historical day. Speakers include famed Iraqi musician and UNICEF Ambassador ofEquity Kadhum Al-Sahir; Dr. Azzam Alwash, who is working to restore the Mesopotamian marshes of southern Iraq; film director Mohamed Al-Daradji; award-winning Iraqi architect Manhal Al-Habbobi; Capitan Fareed Lafta,the first Iraqi Guinness World Record holder; and critically acclaimed musician Naseer Shamma.
As Iraq digs its way out of years of war and political unrest, newer and better ideas are essential to the countryʼsrecovery. TEDxBaghdad provides that platform and aims to keep the conversation going on TEDxBaghdad.comby posting videos from the conference, articles by more leading Iraqi voices and hosting live blogs.
